After becoming a member, when do I get access to my benefits?
FindMyImplant.com can be immediately accessed. Access to membership packet may take up to two weeks. Third party online benefits will become available a month after joining the ICOI (Implant Dentistry, Dear Doctor, DentalMaster, and Dental Users E-learning Portal etc).

How do I reset my username and password?
You may call the central office so that someone can assist you in resetting your password. Please contact us (973) 783 6300 or email us at icoi@dentalimplants.com

Are there pre-requisites to become a member?
There are currently no pre-requisites to become a member.

Can I use the ICOI logo?
Only active members in good standing with a signed logo agreement on file are permitted to use the ICOI logo. Please refer to the logo agreement for further details regarding appropriate use.

Which implant training courses are approved by the ICOI?

Does my membership renew every January?
Your membership renews annually based on when you joined.

Is there a lifetime membership?
No, ICOI does not currently offer lifetime memberships.

Does the ADIA offer advanced credentialing?
Yes, there are three levels of advanced credentialing for ADIA members. For more information please visit: ADIA Credentialing Application

Are the certification courses available online?
No, the certification courses are only given at our North American symposia. For a list upcoming events please visit: https://www.icoi.org/meetings-and-symposia/

Is there a fee for the certification course?
The symposium registration includes the cost of the certification course. There is no additional cost.

Do I have to be a member to take a certification course?
While ADIA members do receive discounts to events, membership is not required to attend an event or certification course.

Can I register for just the certification course at the event?
No, event registration is for the entire meeting, including the certification course.

What are the requirements for ADIA Fellowship?
In order to be eligible for Fellowship Status the applicant must show proof of the following:

  • Attendance to all four (4) of the ADIA certification programs: DHCP, DACP, PMCP and ICCP.
  • Accumulation of 80 hours of Continuing Education credits within the last 5 years. 75% of the required hours must be directly related to implant dentistry.
  • Two years of active membership immediately prior to application.
  • Attendance at one (1) ICOI/ADIA Symposium in the two years immediately prior to application.
  • Performance of one (1) table clinic at an ICOI/ADIA Symposium.
  • One (1) activity within the field of implant dentistry, for example: publication, lecture, community activity, production of an office form or brochure related to implant dentistry.

What are the requirements for Advanced Certified Auxiliary?
In order to be eligible for Advanced Certified Status the applicant must show proof of the following:

  • Attendance at two (2) of the ADIA certification programs, within a two-year period: DHCP, DACP, PMCP or ICCP.
  • Accumulation of 60 hours of Continuing Education credits within the last 5 years. 75% of the required hours must be directly related to implant dentistry.
  • Two years of active ADIA membership immediately prior to application.
  • Attendance at one (1) ICOI/ADIA Symposium in the two years immediately prior to application.

What is the difference between Certified and Advanced Certified ADIA members?
Certified Implant Auxiliary requirements:

  • Attendance at two (2) of the ADIA certification programs, within a two-year period: DHCP, DACP, PMCP or ICCP.

Advanced Certified Status requirements:

  • Attendance at two (2) of the ADIA certification programs, within a two-year period: DHCP, DACP, PMCP or ICCP.
  • Accumulation of 60 hours of Continuing Education credits within the last 5 years. 75% of the required hours must be directly related to implant dentistry.
  • Two years of active ADIA membership immediately prior to application.
  • Attendance at one (1) ICOI/ADIA Symposium in the two years immediately prior to application.

Are there ever any ADIA programs at International Meetings?
At this time, ADIA programs are only offered at North American events.

Can I attend the doctor’s lectures at the ICOI meetings if I have taken all 4 of the certification programs?
Yes, you can attend at the ICOI main podium lectures.

Can I attend the pre-congress courses at the ICOI meetings?
Yes, you can attend the pre-congress courses.

Do we offer any training or hands on courses besides the ones at our meetings?
At this time we only offer ADIA programs in conjunction with our ICOI Symposia.

How do I submit my cases?

You may use PowerPoint, Zip file, or PDF formats and submit cases via mail, e-mail, Dropbox, or fax.

Can my certificate be mailed to me?
No. One of the requirements is that you attend a meeting from the time of submission (within three years) in order to receive your award. THE CERTIFICATE MUST BE AWARDED AT AN ICOI SYMPOSIUM.

Do I have to register for the conference if I’m only being awarded my credentials?
Yes, one of the requirements is that you must register for an ICOI sponsored event, as you must be presented the award at the award ceremony.

What constitutes a case?
1 patient = 1 case (if you ONLY place or ONLY restore)
1 patient = 2 cases (if you place AND restore implants)

Do mini implants count toward cases?
Mini implants may be used but the majority of cases submitted should showcase variety.

Are ancillary procedures considered a case?
Ancillary procedures are not considered cases, however, they may be documented.

What are the Diplomate pre-requisites?
You must be an active ICOI member and an ICOI Fellow.

Is there a Diplomate sample case?
Yes.Diplomate sample case

How long is the Diplomate written exam?
The Diplomate exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions with a total of 3 hours given to complete the exam.

How do I know I passed the Diplomate exams?
You will be notified via text message within a few hours of completing the exam.

How many cases should I bring for the Diplomate oral exam?
You must bring three (3) cases, two (2) of which have been in function for at least three years, as well as one (1), recently completed complex case in Keynote or PowerPoint format with pre and post operative x-rays and clinical photographs.

Am I still considered an ICOI credentialed practitioner if my membership is inactive?
No, in order to use your advanced credentials, you must have an active ICOI membership. Should you choose not to renew your ICOI membership, you must remove your affiliation and credentialing with the ICOI from all public forums.

Do you offer discounted hotel rates for meetings?

Does the ICOI handle travel arrangements?
No, travel and accommodations are the responsibility of the attendee.

Do you submit my CEU’s to AGD?
Yes, we submit them 30 days after the conclusion of the meeting. You must enter the ICOI lecture codes from the event into the ICOI CEU website (www.icoiceu.org) and your AGD number must be included in your CEU profile.

What does the Guest badge include?

  • Admission to the Welcome Reception on Thursday evening
  • Luncheons with the delegates on Friday and Saturday in the Exhibit Hall
  • Morning and afternoon coffee breaks with the delegates in the Exhibit Hall
  • Admission to the Exhibit Hall during show hours

It does not include admission to the General Session, Pre-Symposium or Auxiliary Programs

Can the ADIA attendees also attend the pre-congress or main podium lectures?
Yes, ADIA members have access to both pre-congress and main podium lectures.

How do I submit my CEU’s?
At the end of each session a verification code will be announced. Record the code on your verification code form. Follow the directions on the form at icoiceu.org to obtain your certificate.

I lost my CEU form, how can I get the codes?
Unfortunately, in order to maintain compliance with ADA CERP guidelines, we are not able to provide any meeting codes.

What is the Young Implantologist Program?
It is a platform that provides the opportunity for promising clinicians to exhibit cases of exceptional value for all practitioners.

What is appropriate award ceremony attire?
Business casual attire is encouraged. Group photos will be taken and published in our newsletter.

Will my picture be taken at the award ceremony?
No individual photos will be taken during the award ceremony, however, there will be group photographs taken.

Can my family attend the award ceremony?
Those receiving credentials and one guest are gratis; any additional guests are $25 per person.

How can I advertise with the ICOI?

Does the ICOI offer grants?
Yes, please refer to IDREF.

What credit cards does the ICOI accept?
VISA, American Express, and Master Card.

Do you accept foreign checks?
No foreign checks are accepted, only checks drawn on a US bank.

How can foreign members pay without credit card?
Foreign members who do not wish to use a credit card may utilize wire transfers.

Can I add non-ICOI CEU credits onto the ICOI website?
Yes. You can log credits from non-ICOI courses by accessing www.icoiceu.org
